An assisted-opening knife is a type of folding knife which uses an internal mechanism (spring assisted) to finish the opening of the blade once the user has partially opened it. They are convenient, useful and quick. Most can be opened and closed rapidly by simply pushing a thumb-stud or spine flipper. To operate an assisted opening knife, start the process of opening with one hand, either with the thumb-stud or index tab. This allows the user to open it quickly and conveniently, usually with only one hand. Assisted Opening knives are legal in most areas but be certain to consult your local regulations. |
